Yeah Melissa!

Very well said Melissa. Much needed in these times. I grew up singing many songs -- those that carried the inspiration from Gandhi and later, in my teenage years -- Bob Dylan, who was very popular among the youth of my generation in India.

Wow! I wasn't aware of Bob Dylan's popularity in India during the years of protest. And I love know how you grew up singing songs inspired by Gandhi. A universal need!

What a great piece. Uplifting, moving - and I learned.

Words in song can reach us in ways that words alone cannot.

Let’s you and I keep singing together, surrounded by those inspired by the tunes of justice.

Thank you for this column. We have to share the good stuff, especially art, to get through these awful times. We are all together in this.

Finding community is the only way we make it through! Glad we are together in the ways we are.

M, music & singing are ways of expressing human feelings and passions as you have elequantly expressed in today’s essay !

To me it isn’t how well we carry a tune, I’m sure ya sing beautifully compared to me - lol! It is instead how strong we believe in the words !

Also how the words /tune unite us together to create a force to change our world & society!

Thanks for today’s post. It touched me!! Allthe best with next weeks colonoscopy!

Till next time keep warm, United & moving forward!

Thanks

B

Thanks Bill for expressing so well the essence of what I am trying to convey with this essay, in part by indicating how deeply I feel the impact of certain songs despite my incapacity to sing them in a way that would delight anyone else. But, as I said, wrap my voice in tons and tons of layers of other voices, and I'll be singing as loudly as the next person. All best, melissa
